Our company

At Construct Health we pride ourselves on bringing big-city quality physiotherapy, occupational health care and rehabilitation services to our patients and corporate clients irrespective of where they may be.

We are passionate about bridging the gap in health care that exists between rural, regional and remote Australia and the rest of the country. We put our money where our mouth is by investing heavily in our staff, our clinics and our onsite operations to ensure that our patients and clients expect and receive only the very best of care.

Construct Health commenced in 2008 with a vision to offer vastly improved physiotherapy and occupational health care services to the communities of Central Queensland and the local resources sector. Since starting out with a clinic in Emerald, we have since added clinics in Mackay and Moranbah to the group as well as satellite clinics at Dysart (Moranbah).

Our purpose and values


John Williamson

Managing Director

John founded Construct Health in 2008 and is the Managing Director. His leadership role involves team recruitment, training, sales, and marketing across both the clinic and corporate arms of Construct Health.

Through his research and development, John is constantly looking for new ways for Construct Health to deliver even better healthcare to its patients and corporate clients alike in line with Construct Health’s purpose and three core values.

John has a family of five and enjoys reading business and biographies, drinking coffee and travel both in Australia and abroad.

John also likes to test himself physically and mentally, having completed half and full marathons, 100km races, boxing matches and outdoor adventures.

When not at the Construct Health support office in Brisbane, John is either visiting the clinics or onsite delivering injury management and injury prevention consulting work to corporate clients.

Thomas Wendt

Operations Manager

Thomas has worked as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and Exercise Scientist in the musculoskeletal rehabilitation sector since 2010. He has been part of the Construct Health team in the Bowen Basin since late 2018 with a high exposure to injury management and prevention of work-related injuries in the mining sector and general occupational health field. His interest as a clinician lies particularly within helping persistent pain patients improve their function and quality of life.

Thomas moved into his current management role at the start of 2022, where he has been overseeing the operations of Construct Health across the Bowen Basin, including four clinic hub locations, on-site physiotherapy services and a team of injury management advisors.

Thomas enjoys physical challenges, having completed ultramarathons, an ironman 70.3 triathlon, obstacle races and countless smaller endurance events. On the weekends you will find him spending time outdoors with his wife and two young kids.

Cherie Miller

Systems Planner

Cherie is part of the leadership team and supports our systems within Construct Health, organises workplace projects, supports the establishment and maintenance of policies and processes, facilitates the onboarding of new team members, as well as the scheduling of our teams, particularly in the Moranbah region.

Cherie is driven by a passion to close the gap in rural communities ensuring excellence in patient care. Having lived in rural and remote communities for most of her life and working in all areas of healthcare she is intimately aware of the challenges faced. She has facilitated and has been a keynote speaker in rural/remote and national health conferences on these challenges and on how to support vulnerable people.

Cherie is a founding director of the first charity in Australia for the rare disease Multiple System Atrophy, raising awareness and valuable research within Australia. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quiet time with her family with long walks on the beach.
